Semona Michelle is an RN/BSN accredited care provider who earned her nursing degree in 2008. Her career has included an array of clinical roles in a multitude of care settings, all of which fine-tuned her clinical skill set and value for patient centered care. Although her professional journey fulfilled her fascination for medicine, the missing element was the lack of creative expression. As a youngster, she thrived in her practice of music, dance, and art and one day hoped to incorporate these passions into her every day. Her love for art and medicine led her to that “ah ha” moment when she was introduced to aesthetic medicine. This talent, appreciation, and respect for the artform of aesthetics, mixed with her priorities for safety and genuine relationships, are what make Semona special.
Her last 7 years as an injection specialist have been a pursuit of skills training and master certifications. Her core belief is, we are all a “one of a kind beautiful”, inside and out, and we all deserve to believe that about ourselves. Medical Grade Skincare
What is medical grade skin care, and how does it differ from other types of skin care? They are defined by three primary characteristics: potency level, clinical testing, and where they are sold. These skincare lines have higher potency and concentrations of active ingredients, and have the capacity for greater absorption. They are formulated to target specific skincare concerns such as acne, sun damage, and premature aging, and on a deeper and more effective level than over-the-counter (OTC) products.
Medical grade products undergo clinical testing and evaluation that adheres to FDA regulations, which is why they tend to be more expensive. That clinical testing, however, ensures that all claims for performance and results are supported by science. Since the FDA doesn’t regulate OTC products, they can’t penetrate beyond the top layer of skin. OTC formulas also can’t make any medical claims, such as treating a particular skin condition. Since medical grade skincare is regulated, it can provide claims and safely penetrate the skin on a deeper level.
